Before the Conference
Preparation is key in making a conference a success. Without preparation it is not likely you will get all you paid for.
A week or two before the conference, conference attendees should meet for a pre-conference briefing to share their contact information, travel plans, and establish expectations for the conference. Are attendees going to particiapte in any conference events? Will there be an Away-Team dinner? A happy hour? How does each person prefer to be contacted at the conference? Text, phone, email, or not at all?
Prepare your elevator pitch. Be ready to answer the questions: What do you do? What are you working on these days? What brings you to the conference?
What else? Lots! This is just a small taste of what every conference attendee should do before attending a conference. Use the full checklist of to-do activities for what to do before the conference, during the conference, and after the conference.
